The Woman’s Christian Temperance Union began in 1873/74 when women came together to pray and crusade against alcohol, which was destroying their husbands and their homes. It quickly spread to other countries around the world, including Australia. Today the WCTU campaigns against, not only alcohol, but also illicit drugs, tobacco, gambling, domestic violence, etc. Learn more about it and what you can do to help and support this important Christian movement for women and families. Operation Food For Life has been supporting poor people, mainly in Port Moresby, since the 1990s. Dennis Perry and David Woolley, work mates at Sanitarium, saw poverty in the South Pacific firsthand and couldn’t forget their experience. By God’s grace, they determined to do something to help––and they did. Today OFFL is helping many children, families, prisoners and the sick, by providing food and accommodation, as well as introducing them to the love of God. They go to the people in Jesus’ name, being His hands and feet. Learn more about this ministry, and the work that is currently being done, from the founders’ themselves.
