For the first time, the Light Bearers team will run their full three-month ARISE evangelism program outside of the United States of America. The program will be held at Kingscliff Adventist Church in the North New South Wales (NNSW) Conference. The program will feature all of the Light Bearers’ core teachers, including Pastor David Asscherick, Jeffrey Rosario and Ty Gibson.

The ARISE training isn’t limited to members of the NNSW Conference, but is open to anyone from around Australia who wants to apply. Applications are now open and more information is available at nnsw.adventist.org.au/arise. The ARISE program will run from 28 February to 18 May 2013.

Matt Parra, Director of Evangelism for the NNSW Conference, says, “This program will make living apostles. There are only 30 spaces available, and this is an excellent opportunity for people who want to serve Jesus. If God is calling you to be part of this, you shouldn’t wait to apply.”

Pastor Justin Lawman, President of the NNSW Conference, says, “For us, it’s an exciting development that takes us closer to every member being a minister. We want to deliberately and intentionally invest in members of our church. The ARISE team has signed on to work with the conference for three years, and we hope that after that, churches can become training centres.”

Matt adds, “We’re very excited about the fact that this program will help us put more people in churches and communities to minister to others. People will come out of the course with a much clearer understanding of the relevance of Adventism, its doctrines and how those doctrines impact our view of God. They’ll be given the skills to share that in a real way with others.”

The course will be both theoretical and practical, with every student getting the opportunity to give Bible studies and be part of a public evangelism campaign.
