3ABN Re-tune on Optus D2

Due to the technical difficulties 3ABN have been experiencing during this year on Optus D2 it has been decided to move 3ABN to a different transponder (channel) frequency on the satellite

Both the old and new transponders are airing 3ABN at the same time until January 4, 2009 to facilitate the change over. THIS CHANGE SHOULD NOT AFFECT ANY OTHER CHANNEL ON YOUR RECEIVER!

Change the transponder frequency in your satellite receiver to 12546. Make sure network search is OFF/DISABLED. Change scan mode from ALL channels to FREE TO AIR (FTA/Free) channels. Then download (scan) this new frequency.

Exit back to the normal channel screen then look through the channels for "3ABN NEW HOME". This is the new channel you should watch. The old 3ABN channel the will go off air on January 4. Write down the channel number of "3ABN New Home" so you can find it easily if you have been watching other channels. Or move the new 3ABN channel location via the edit channel section of your receiver.

"3ABN RADIO NEW HOME" will be downloaded on the new frequency as well so you will have two 3ABN Radio’s for a short time. Listen to the new service as the other will soon stop airing.

We will try to make instructions available for as many satellite receiver brands as possible and will update the list as often as we are able.

If any viewers need help they can phone us on +61-8-9731- 8029. Please be patient as we will be helping many people. Other wise, viewers should contact their dish installer. If the installer put in a new PIN ask him for it so you can access the menu in your receiver.

We ask those who can make their own changes to help other family, friends, and church members who are more technically challenged. We do not want anyone to find they have lost 3ABN because the change was not made in time. It can be made anytime later but many people may not know what to do if they lose the signal.
